The Austin Library Media Center is open each weekday from 8:15 to 3:00 for students and from 7:45 - 3:30 for teachers.
Students may check out books for a period of (2) weeks. Students in grades K-4 are allowed to check out two books at a time and grade 5 may check out three books. Fines are not charged for overdue books; however, students with overdue books will not be allowed to check out additional books. Students must pay to replace lost or damaged books.
ACCESSIBILITY
The Library Media Center hours of operation at Mary B. Austin are flexible. The regular hours are from 8:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. on school days for both teachers and students.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Mary B. Austin Library Media Center will provide a secure and comfortable environment in which students feel free to explore various sources of information. Students will receive instruction and training that will enable them to access, analyze, assimilate, and use acquired information. The media center will promote literacy and the enjoyment of reading by providing age appropriate literature that entertains as well as informs.
